Higher Education Programs and Services:
Tribal Grant Funding
Enrolled Lac du Flambeau Tribal Members pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited institution of higher education are eligible to receive tribal grant funding through the Education Department.
Higher Education Housing Assistance Loan Program
Full-time college students living 50 miles or more away from their primary residence are eligible to receive a loan up to $5,000.00 per academic year to assist with rent and utility (water, sewer and electricity only) expenses. The Housing Assistance Loan program offers a zero interest loan and is limited to 20 students per semester.
College Admissions Application or Test Fee Funding
Enrolled Lac du Flambeau Tribal Members are eligible to have one college admissions application fee or test fee up to $500.00 paid for per (fiscal) year by the Education Department.
College Graduation Incentive
Enrolled Lac du Flambeau Tribal Members graduating with an Associate Degree or higher are eligible to receive a graduation incentive (if available). Incentives are determined by the Education Department and may vary from year to year. Due to budgetary limitations, incentives may not be available. For students with a Higher Education Housing Assistance Loan balance, their graduation incentive will be applied directly to the student’s housing loan balance, provided the appropriate documentation is submitted.
