Lac du Flambeau Community Update
Veterans Information
The Tribal Veterans Service Officer (TVSO), Daniel Thompson, will be reaching out to as many veterans as possible inquiring about any assistance they may need at this time. We also asking all WI Vets to contact at least one veteran they know of and ask them if they are in need of any support or services and instruct them how to reach out for help.
A temporary suspension of administrative policies has been implemented to make it easier for veterans to apply for benefits. Anyone needing services is encouraged to reach out to their local VSO and/or TVSO. Links are available at:
All veterans who have filed for unemployment are encouraged to continue to dial-in or utilize online services to check on the status of unemployment benefits:

All Veterans with questions about receiving their stimulus checks please refer to the following site:
Veteran Color Guard has currently suspended memorial services to include the annual Memorial Day Ceremony. All ceremonies, funerals, etc. are being recorded so that the veterans will receive honors at a later date. All VSO’s and TVSO’s should also be recording and tracking veteran memorial services and pass this information to the VA. Cemeteries are currently open for visitation; social distancing is still in effect and highly recommended.
