COMMON QUESTIONS
What is contact tracing? Contact tracing is the process community health nurses use to identify individuals who may have come into contact with an infected individual and gather additional information to aid in stopping the transmission of the virus or disease.
How does testing work? What type is done? The testing is a nasal swab and is sent out to receive confirmatory results.
What happens in the meantime? Shelter in place quarantine? What about my family members? Is there a place to shelter away from my Family? Individuals should practice self-isolation at home based on the recommendation of the nurse providing the test. If it is possible, the individual tested should distance themselves from other household family members as instructed. Sheltering areas will be coordinated between the LDF ICS and Community Health Departments.
*NOTE* It is important to follow the self-isolation guidelines as recommended. This is the best practice to keep yourself, loved ones and community members safe. Choosing not to follow self-isolation guidelines may have a devastating impact on the community. Do your part to keep everyone safe!
