The LDF Tribe via ICS Team connected up with the Information Technology Disaster Resource Center (ITDRC) non-profit organization, to improve WIFI broadcasting in Lac du Flambeau. The ITDRC is assisting rural and underserved communities during the COVID-19 pandemic with their projectConnect initiative to allow online distance learning, where students have access to the Internet to complete assignments.
ITDRC’s projectConnect allows an existing public Wi-Fi building to boost or broadcast its signal strength. This program provides free access points and does the wiring install outside the building.
ITDRC’s website is: http://www.itdrc.org
Wi-fi Boosters were installed last Friday at the Youth Center, Tribal Natural Resource Building, Planning Department and Boys Dorm/Tribal Historic Preservation Office. The parking lots of each building are provide good wi-fi access. The rear lot at TNR is covered by the access point.
The password is the same as if you were inside the Buildings on Guest Wi-fi : Boozhoo1
Practice safety—social distance rules of 6ft- wash hands-use sanitizer- no large groups.
